Dianne N.'s Story

“Coming to National Spine and Pain Centers has been a very positive experience for me. I would highly recommend them.”
In her previous career as a restaurant server, Dianne Nater spent long days on her feet—despite suffering from terrible back pain. She welcomed any opportunity to sit down…until she had to get up again. “Just getting up out of a chair, my back would hurt so bad that I had to take several minutes to stand up straight because I was in a lot of pain,” she recalls.
Dianne suffered in pain for years before her primary care physician suggested that she visit Scott Sherman, M.D. at National Spine & Pain Centers in Orlando. It was a referral that Dianne says changed her life.
It began eight years ago, at their first appointment, when Dianne says Dr. Sherman took the time to listen to her so that he could find the best course of treatment for her specific pain.

In the years since, they have tried a number of interventions, including injections and medications, in an effort to find the most effective regimen to treat Dianne’s chronic back pain. “He has found something that works for me so now I can go through my daily life and not have any major pain,” she says. Although she is not completely pain-free, “It's definitely much better than it used to be,” Dianne adds. “I can get up (from a seated position) just like a normal person.”
Dianne is no longer a server, but as the owner of her own small business, she still spends a lot of time on her feet. And she credits Dr. Sherman for helping her be able to do that. “Dr. Sherman is amazing,” she says. “Coming to National Spine and Pain Centers has been a very positive experience for me. I would highly recommend them.”
