Mayo F. Friedlis, M.D. is Interventional Pain Management doctor practicing out of National Spine & Pain Centers’ Chevy Chase, MD and Tysons Corner, VA offices. Since joining National Spine & Pain Centers in 1983, Dr. Friedlis has helped expand the practice into the thriving, nationally recognized leader it is today. He is passionate about the science of pain management and committed to delivering the most effective therapies possible to each of his patients. Throughout his 25+ years of experience, he has actively enhanced his knowledge and expertise through continuing education, training and research, a pursuit that has established him in the region as the foremost practitioner of regenerative therapies for musculoskeletal injuries.
In addition to being skilled in conventional interventional techniques, Dr. Friedlis is one of few physicians in the Washington, DC metropolitan area trained to perform Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, and is one of the first doctors in the area to use Stem Cell Therapy for musculoskeletal injuries, in particular knee and hip arthritis and has been showing positive results over the last 2 years.
Dr. Friedlis earned his medical degree from Wayne State University and was selected Chief Resident during his residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit. He is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management and the National Board of Medical Examiners. His clinical expertise encompasses a variety of diagnostic specialties and treatments, including Stem Cell Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP Therapy), Prolotherapy, Facet Joint Injections, Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Injection, Epidural Nerve Block, Hip Joint Injections, Joint Injections, Medial Branch Blocks, Selected Nerve Root Injections (SNRI), Trigger Point Injections, and Radiofrequency Neurotomy.
