Dr. Ben Newton recently joined National Spine & Pain Centers in 2016, practicing out of our Chevy Chase and Tysons Corner centers. Dr. Newton has extensive experience evaluating and treating non-operative orthopedic, sports injury, and musculoskeletal complaints of the spine and extremities. Dr. Newton completed his residency in Vermont where he treated high school athletes and volunteered at injury clinics at nearby ski resorts. He then continued on with his training as a sports medicine fellow in Cincinnati, where he spent time and advanced his skills with Beacon Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Here, he was able to evaluate and treat professional and elite athletes providing him with ample knowledge and experience.
During this same fellowship, Dr. Newton spent time at spring training in Arizona with the Cincinnati Reds, as well as home games in Cincinnati. He completed a second fellowship in interventional orthopedics and regenerative medicine with Regenexx at the Centeno-Schultz Clinic in Colorado and remained on staff, following its conclusion.
His passion followed his fellowship into regenerative medicine and interventional orthopedics. His experience with evaluating and treating non-operative orthopedic, sports injury, and musculoskeletal complaints of the spine and extremities comes unmatched. Dr. Newton excels in utilizing regenerative therapies to help patients regain and maintain their quality of life.
Dr. Newton enjoys sharing his knowledge in assisting both physicians and patients with regenerative and interventional orthopedic medicine. Double board-certified in sports and family medicine, he also holds additional training certificates in musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy. He has had many opportunities to share his expertise and knowledge by teaching courses on these topics at annual conferences, such as the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine. He also participates in a number of volunteer experiences both nationally, as a physician at Ironman triathlons, and internationally, in rural Mexico, treating patients with a myriad of orthopedic complaints.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Ben Newton to our practice, and look forward to the expertise and personalized care he will bring to patients of all ages who are attempting to get back to a healthy, active lifestyle!
