National Spine & Pain Centers (NSPC) recently hosted a Journal Club Meeting and Lecture for physical therapy providers. Drs. Rodney Dade and Robert Wagner presented on both interventional and regenerative therapies that NSPC offer. The program was conducted at NSPC’s Fairfax, VA center on Saturday July 29, 2017 with support of The McKenzie Institute, an international organization that utilizes the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT).
The lecture was focused on the following topics:
- The role of regenerative medicine in the treatment of acute and chronic pain
- The decision-making process toward utilizing regenerative medicine
- The therapy protocol and the rationale for the protocol
The program was promoted to physical therapists certified in MDT. 20 therapists from over 8 different practices traveled from Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD to attend the program. It was a successful event with great conversation and questions.
An expert in interventional pain management techniques, Dr. Dade comprehensively treats neck, back and sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. His advanced expertise helps patients achieve significant pain relief without surgery and enables them to return to normal, active lifestyles. As a physiatrist, Dr. Dade approaches pain by evaluating the whole person, not just the source of pain. Understanding and respecting the symbiotic relationship between all systems in the human body, he diagnoses a variety of musculoskeletal conditions with precision and develops comprehensive treatment plans.
Dr. Wagner specializes in fluoroscopy-guided injections and regenerative therapies for spine and joint injuries. An expert practitioner in prolotherapy, he has lectured and mentored physicians nationally in this innovative technique. Dr. Wagner is also leader in the rapidly emerging field of Platelet Rich Plasma Injections (PRP) and Stem Cell therapies. Dr. Wagner is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management.
