Tony Mezera is a certified physician assistant in the Spring Lake, NC office of National Spine & Pain Centers, where he conducts patient histories, physicals, assessments and develops treatment plans.
Working in the field of pain management enables Mezera to connect with his patients in a very special way. “Pain is a very personal, emotional experience,” he said. “Patients need to feel heard when expressing their pain experience. It is my job to listen carefully so that we can develop a treatment plan that is going to be effective and reflects how pain is impacting their daily life, relationships, sleep and activities.”
Mezera earned his bachelor’s degree in biology, graduating magna cum laude from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. He continued his studies there by pursuing his master’s degree in medical science and physician assistant studies.
“It is my professional desire to lessen human suffering by using high quality, evidence-based practice,” he said. “Delivering pain management services offers an opportunity to engage with the patient and offer compassionate care that can significantly improve their comfort and quality of life.”
In his free time, Mezera enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.
