Sokpoleak So, M.D., Pharm.D., sees patients in the Danbury and Waterbury offices of Pain & Spine Specialists of Connecticut, an affiliate of National Spine & Pain Centers. Dr. So combines his deep knowledge of both medical and pharmacological care to help his patients who are suffering from chronic and acute pain. He is board-certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology and holds a doctorate of pharmacy.
Dr. So earned his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and completed his preliminary medicine internship at the Hospital of St. Raphael – Yale University in New Haven, CT. He then pursued his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA, where he also completed a fellowship in pain medicine and gained extensive experience in the use of fluoroscopic and ultrasound interventional pain procedures.
His pain medicine fellowship was a perfect complement to the doctorate of pharmacy that Dr. So earned from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in Storrs, CT. He employs his knowledge of pharmacology and non-invasive interventional medical treatments to ensure that his patients are afforded the latest approaches to responsible pain management. “I try to optimize a multimodality approach of pain treatment that is tailored to each patient,” he said.
Dr. So grew up in Connecticut and is an avid runner and swimmer. He is also a loyal hockey fan.
