Patrick McGinn is a certified physician assistant at the Premier Pain Centers office in New Jersey. Passionate about helping his patients, McGinn plans to hone his skills and enhance his patient’s quality of life through providing excellent care.
McGinn has experience working in numerous medical fields, completing medical test and diagnostics, assisting in surgeries, as well as daily clinical tasks such as physical examinations and recording medical histories. Throughout his education, he completed a series of clinical rotations which allowed him to acquire the skills necessary to excel in his career.
“I emphasize the importance of interventional treatment (i.e. nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections) as this allows for longer periods of pain relief. As far as treating my patients, I believe it is very important to treat everyone on an individual basis. I along with the patient develop a treatment plan that best suits them and manages their pain effectively,” McGinn stated.
Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science from Roanoke College in Roanoke, Virginia, McGinn worked at the Carilion Clinic as a medical scribe in emergency services. It was during this time that he was introduced to the role of physician assistant. Being attracted to the versatility of the role as well as the ability to spend time with patients, McGinn decided to further his career.
He attended Stony Brook University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. While attending, McGinn participated in a medical missions trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador, as well as completing ten rounds of clinical rotations in various fields including orthopedics, pediatrics, and internal medicine.
When McGinn isn’t practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling abroad, and playing tennis.
