As a Physician Assistant, Gregory Laurence Morell is driven to successfully help a patient where other medical providers have failed.
Gregory joined the National Spine and Pain Centers in September 2018. His previous work experience as a physician’s assistant includes at Valley Orthopedics Trauma Specialist, Amherst Family Practice and Virginia Spine Institute.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education/athletic training from Plymouth State College in New Hampshire and a master’s degree in athletic training from West Virginia University. He earned his certification in physician assistant sciences from Saint Francis College in Pennsylvania. Gregory has extensive knowledge in complex spine disorders.
“With all the new changes in medicine, we can now offer patients pain relief or control (over pain) without surgery and with minimal use of pharmaceutical products,” he said.
When developing a treatment plan, Gregory believes medication management is one of the key tools that medical personnel can use to successfully increase the quality of life for patients.
Gregory knows each patient as well as their condition are different and should be treated in an individualized manner. “Interacting with each patient and focusing on their individual needs will help both the patient and I reach a common goal of quality of life,” he said.
In his downtime, Gregory can be found hunting and partaking in outdoor sports. He is also an associate professor at Shenandoah University. He teaches about low back pain, joint pain and cardio thoracic exams.
