Emily Powell joined National Spine & Pain Centers in 2012 and works alongside Dr. Abraham Cherrick to help treat patients with acute and chronic pain.
A native of Richmond, Va., Emily graduated from Virginia Tech where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation, she spent time working as a medical assistant for a busy OB/GYN practice in Richmond, which inspired her to return to school and earn her Master of Clinical Medical Science degree and Physician Assistant certification from Barry University in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Emily is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants. During her student years, Emily was active at the state level as a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
When not at work caring for patients, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors, and is happy to be back in Virginia, close to her family. She has a passion for music, and is a proud alumna of Virginia Tech’s marching band the Marching Virginians, where she played trombone.
