“Our practice is enriched by having Bryn Burnett on staff,” said one National Spine & Pain Centers colleague. “We and her patients benefit tremendously from her many years in medicine (more than 20) and the wide variety of her experience, especially in women’s health, addiction and pain management.”
Burnett joined NSPC in 2013, coming from three years with Planned Parenthood of Central Pennsylvania.
Prior to Planned Parenthood, Burnett spent five years with the Partners in Recovery program, the Addiction Center of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Sheppard Pratt. In addition to evaluating and treating patients in the substance abuse treatment program, she also served as an educator for nurse practitioner and physician assistant students, as well as medical residents, with a focus on safe withdrawal from mood altering chemicals and pain management in the addicted patient. Additionally, Burnett was a guest speaker at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry on the subject of the physiology of addiction.
From 1997 to 2002, Burnett worked in obstetrics and gynecology for a private practice physician in Towson, Maryland. From 1993-97, she was an associate partner for labor and delivery for the University of Maryland Medical Systems. While at the UM Medical Center, she also earned her master’s in nursing and, at the same time, was a teaching associate at the University of Maryland School of Nursing.
Aside from work, Burnett enjoys biking, kayaking, handgun target shooting, reading, playing with her dogs and spending as much time as possible with her teenage daughter.
